(BAD LUCK KIDDERMINSTER HARRIERS BETTER LUCK NEXT SEASON) KIDDERMINSTER HARRIERS 2 HISTON 2
Pupils are being given the chance to cheer on Kidderminster Harriers as they chase promotion, after a generous local businessman donated tickets to the final home game of the season to Kings Charles School.
David Hollyoak, who owns Hollyoak Recruitment, has bought 100 under-16s tickets for £500 for Harriers’ clash against Histon on Saturday, April 30 (5.15pm kick-off) and given them to the school.
With the Aggborough outfit still striving for a place in the Blue Square Bet Premier’s promotion play-off spots, the match could be a crucial for their hopes of reaching the Football League.
The tickets were presented to head teacher Tim Gulliver and they will be awarded to students who wish to attend the nail-biter as a reward for good attendance.
As a bonus, the club have also agreed any parent accompanying a pupil will only have to pay £10 admission instead of the normal £17, although they must inform Harriers in advance they are attending the game.
Hollyoak worked on the idea with school governor Cllr Fran Oborski, who herself is a long time Harriers fan and donated £1,000 to the club in November, when the full extent of its financial problems were revealed.
She said: “This is a win-win situation, it’s good for the school, good for the town and good for Kidderminster Harriers.
“The town needs a Harriers which is healthy so anything which can be done to support it is very important.”

Hollyoak is also keen to raise money for the club, which has only recently avoided going into a Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA) and is appealing to other businesses to donate cheques, which should be made out to Kidderminster Harriers FC.
Any money received will be presented to Harriers during the Histon game.
